He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering (University of Leuven, Belgium), PGD and MSc degrees in Food Technology (Option: Food Preservation Engineering), and BSc. in Chemical and Process Engineering (Dar es Salaam). Ivan has specialised training in food safety (predictive microbiology), and industrial biotechnology domains. As an associate staff of the Uganda National Council for Science and Technology (UNCST), Ivan built capacity in policy and program development in areas of product development, technology transfer management and biotechnology. Ivan was also a fellow of the VLIR (Inter-University Research Council) programme, and DBOF-Research Council of KU Leuven- University of Leuven. Throughout his experience stints and training in the food, textile and chemical production industry, Ivan has built capacity in Plant Design, Industrial Process Control, Total Quality Management, Food Safety, Industrial Safety and Maintenance. Today, Ivan is engaged in research of related fields which have resulting into publications in high impact journals. More research interests include Oil and Gas, and renewable energy.
